A tutor’s guide to teaching and learning at UQ

The University of Queensland’s Teaching and Educational Development Institute (TEDI) has published A tutor’s guide to teaching and learning at UQ (2004, 2010). 

Whilst this resource is tailored to the University of Queensland, much of its content are very useful to guiding and supporting sessional tutors from a range of contexts and teaching situations. It’s contents include detailed information on the following:

  • Getting started
  • Understanding student learning
  • Effective small group teaching and learning
  • eLearning
  • Marking and giving feedback
  • Evaluating and improving your teaching

A range of options and activities are presented throughout, and common tutor apprehensions, issues and challenges are discussed.
